Playgroup 1/29

Hi Everyone! This week for playgroup we are going to a park located near Higley and Southern Rd.
There are plenty of basketball courts so don't forget to bring out the bikes! We will meet at 10:00 and stay for a picnic.
To get there take Higley North through Southern and take your second right on Enid. The park is about 1/4 mile down the road on the right side. Hope everyone can make it!

F.Y.I. On the 12th of February we will be having a Valentine's party. We need a couple volunteers to bring a dozen heart shaped sugar cookies. We will be handing out Valentine's cards and doing crafts. If you have any craft ideas, please e mail me. In the mean time, try saving 1 tissue box for each participating child.

Women's Adventure Race

Coming up in April there will be an Adventure Race for women at Saguaro Lake. I have done these races before and they are so much fun! You are in teams of 2, 3 or 4 and you stay together the whole time. I think it would be great to get a lot of ladies out. This race is totally doable. No running necessary. You must however, be willing to do some mountain biking. You also must be able to read a map. There will be a rafting section on the lake and plenty of mystery events! There is plenty of time to get ready so if you're interested e mail me!

Happy Birthday Relief Society!

Come and celebrate at our Relief Society Birthday Party!
March 3rd at 6:30 at the Highland Towne Mall (our ward building)
A delicious dinner will be served!!

Help! We still need shopping bags (the nice ones with handles). If you have any, please get them to Lisa S. ASAP.

We really hope everyone can come! This will be a really fun and uplifting evening! Don't forget to invite those you visit teach.

Stake Enrichment

Last Saturday our stake had a wonderful enrichment activity that centered on the theme "If ye are prepared ye shall not fear." We started out in the chapel where President S spoke to us about accountibility. Then we broke into classes. One was a food tasting class, where we were able to sample many different foods made with three-month supply type ingredients. You can click below to download and print the recipes. Another class was taught by our very own Janet C about the three month supply.

Another was about Emergency Preparedness taught by two brethren in our stake who traveled to Louisiana a few years ago to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The last two classes were about finances taught by President L and on gardening in Arizona taught by a woman in our stake.

All in all it was a very enjoyable and informative enrichment activity. Many thanks to all who helped!!

Playgroup for Thurs. Jan 22nd

Hi Ladies,
This is so nice to have our own ward blog!
Every Thursday we have a playgroup for anyone who is interested. I will continue posting our activities and hopefully many of you can come!

This week we are heading down to XTreme Play. Its a new place for little kids to go and get their energy out! Its a huge facility with bounce houses everywhere. A 4 year old's dream come true! Since we are so awesome the manager has agreed to give us a great admission price. She'll charge $5 per kid (normally $8.75) and babies are free. No charge for adults either!
We will be meeting there at 10:00 a.m. Please bring cash, oh, and make sure the kiddos are wearing socks!
To get there, head east on the 60 and exit on Stapley, turn right and it will be on the right side of the road. Hope to see you there!
